Where Dragons Live

By Suzanne Raes

Co produced by Reece Cargan with Ilja Roomans from Docmakers and NPO.

Funded by the Netherlands Film Fund & Screen Scotland. With worldwide sales handled via Film Harbour.

Where Dragons Live follows a British upper-class family in Oxfordshire, during their last summer in their ancestral home. Between the clutter and the boxes, the siblings find themselves haunted by the memories of their late parents: a dragon-obsessed father and an exacting mother, and the esoteric collections of objects they left behind.

Now adults, the siblings must come together to clear out the family estate so it’s ready for sale – and in the process, come to terms with who they are, given their unorthodox and at times traumatic upbringing.

Dragons received its World Premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest 2024 and screened in competition at IDFA and CPH: Dox.

Where Dragons Live was nominated for a BAFTA Scotland 2025.
