Spilt Milk follows an imaginative young boy who pretends to be a detective in search of his missing older brother who unbeknownst to him is a heroin addict. This story explores the tragedy of the heroin epidemic in 1980s Dublin through the eyes of an innocent, empathetic young boy.
Spilt Milk was part of the London Film Festival’s ‘Work in Progress’ Showcase. Spilt Milk was also nominated for an IFTA Award for outstanding direction by Brian Durnin and made its UK premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival in March 2025, where it won the Mubi Audience Award.
